  1. I stop watching before Ripa arrived. When Cody and Cassidy got too big to ride their pony, I moved on.

  2. NYT in their business section:

““The fact that it isn’t proceeding along that trajectory (privately) suggests that Carlson had an interest in seeing these allegations brought forward in the public forum,” said Debra Katz, a lawyer who specializes in sexual harassment cases.”

  3. Here’s a quote you won’t see on MSNBC:

FBI Director James Comey said Thursday that former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton may not have been “sophisticated enough” to understand the classified markings on emails she sent and received, which explains why did didn’t know she was breaking the letter of the law.

That the same lady Obama said was “whip smart”?

    • As I said last week…..the anti-Clinton ads will write themselves this year…………The FBI dir. has said she was extremely careless with classified emails and now she wasn’t sophisticated enough to know what classifed markings looked like………but Obama said yesterday she was the most qualified person to ever run????

on the #laughingstocks front today…..a new one……..they whined about a Fox Show (black host of course) that didnt even get to air. Seems it was to be to anti-clinton……..I guess somehow they knew what each host was going to say on a show that NEVER aired…………I guess they don’t need to watch so we don’t have to anymore over at the disgraced Newshound site.

      • It’s not much of a leap from critiquing shows you don’t watch to critiquing shows that don’t air. Next: an outraged review of a show that hasn’t even been created yet…but it might be!

        • Maybe they’re testing some new Twitter program that, ala the movie Minority Report, extrapolates Fox outrages before they even happen.

    • Give the lady a break. She was only Secretary of State.

It’s a bit unreasonable for law enforcement to expect that the smartest woman in the world, imminently qualified to lead the free world, would be sophisticated enough to understand the marking system for classified info. That military stuff is damn hard too!

I fully expect that in between her gutsy epic take-downs and brilliant denouements of the essence of Donald Trump, the little lady is going to the victim of some egregious and garment-rending push-back from Trump’s brutish x-y chromosomes.

  4. Is there news that 10 other women have contacted Gretchen’s lawyer etc…? I read that from a commenter on TVNewser

          • I think they were reading off what HuffPO had posted where anon FNC sources sent in tips

I don’t know, Ailes can’t be this stupid!

          • Never underestimate the ability of we bipeds to be stupid.

Also don’t underestimate the level of sturm und drang you’re going to see with this.

I’ve already seen pieces on the internet that have misquoted what Carlson quotes Ailes as saying to her. That have reported Carlson’s tongue-in-cheek walk off was serious.

            Buyer beware.

          • What makes me not believe Gretchen is her ratings were really bad! TVNewser has a story about her ratings & she only beat the early morning shows in ratings so Roger had a reason not to resign her! If her ratings were pretty good then Gretchen would have a case, I bet she’s thinking I’m no young 30 something & if I’m out at FOX, it’s over for me so I’ll just go scorched earth on Ailes, see what comes out of it

          • And it might be the case that there’s something in between all wrong or all right for both players.

          • Oh yeah, I’ve seen that too. Never mind that Gretchen herself laughed that it was all a joke, a riff on the periodic walk-offs that Kilmeade would do in faux outrage over something. And I’ll bet every last one got treated as a serious eruption! I’ll bet they had a good laugh about that after the show, while they were shunning Gretchen that is.

    • Based upon her specific complaints that have been aired at this time and her being given her own show after complaints about her co-hosts, she’s going to need every one of those ten woman.

  5. Anderson Cooper belongs on that talk show with Kelly Rippa.

The most emblematic moment to date of the depth and breath of thinking among our elites is Cooper telling Pam Bondi that she couldn’t much care about gay people being shot because he had scanned her Twitter feed for a month and she had not tweeted a thing about Gay Pride Week.

  6. No transcripts of Clinton’s FBI interview. Comey wasn’t present. He’s not quite sure how many FBI interviewers were present.

    • So….how do they ever prove that her testimony before Congress and FBI is different so they could charge her w/perjury? Oh well, she’s an honest soul so just give it up now.

      • She was under oath before Congress. May have to answer for that, but don’t bet the farm.

        • The media will discuss this. They’ll shake their heads over it. They’ll tsk it. They’ll concern troll Republicans over political strategy. They’ll opine about “optics” and pull other stuff out of their butts. They’ll be interested spectators…

They’ll do everything but approach it with the loud and incessant demands for accountability and ravenous searching for culpability that they would have were HRC a Republican.

          • BREAKING NEWS: State Department re-opens investigation of how Hillary Clinton, aides handled classified information, AP reports.

  7. “I’m Gretchen, here’s Shep”. Shepard reported the lawsuit story between breaks today in a straight, just-the-facts-ma’am segment.

  8. The thing I’ve been thinking about all day is if J. Edgar Hoover were still alive, would he be wearing a pants-suit?

  9. Re: lawsuit about more than money

Someone needs to tell Gretchen’s lawyers that there’s a bit of a disconnect in saying that she lived with harassment until she saw that there was no renewed Fox deal in her future and that she was motivated to sue for women everywhere.

  10. Today’s most popular links.,..

1 Throwback Thursday video from 2008: Crack-up on Fox & Friends.

  11. I was reading a Letter to the Editor in the St. Helena Star from St Helena Police Chief Bill Imboden concerning the brouhaha about the havoc there from Nancy Pelosi’s shoe shopping expedition.

For a minute I though perhaps the newspaper had inadvertently exchanged a statement from Director Comey into copy about Pelosi:

“The St. Helena Police Department has received similar complaints in the past, and on occasion we come across a scenario like what is mentioned in the complaint. Unfortunately local law enforcement has no authority to prevent this type of activity. The U.S. Capitol Police and the U.S. Secret Service provide dignitary protection for certain high-ranking members of the Federal Government, and this protection comes with the discretion to violate some state and local laws (illegal U-turns, parking in a red zone) under the guise of providing the best possible protection to the dignitary. In the case of Congresswoman Pelosi, she receives her protection detail from the Capitol Police. As the Chief of Police in St. Helena I can assure you we don’t like or condone their behavior, but I can tell you from personal experience that while they sympathize with the position they put us in, they will not alter their tactics to appease us.

“Anyone who wishes to lodge a complaint about Congresswoman Pelosi can email her at the following website: pelosi.house.gov.

“You can also lodge a complaint with the protection agency at: U.S. Capitol Police Office of Professional Responsibility — OPR@uscp.gov.”
