  1. By the time the election rolls around their new slogan will be: “CNN, the most trusted pimp in news”.

  2. Subject: Jedediah Bila vs. The View (Media Bias)

As someone who suggested many on CNN and the network news staffs ‘probably’ voted for Romney instead of Obama, I plead guilty to saying the ‘liberal’ media bias meme may be accurate but IMO is somewhat exaggerated.

Having said this, I think Jedediah Bila — who was in a 4 vs 1 discussion — won the day in making the case for media bias. It was fun to watch given that they all seem to genuinely like each other. Imagine that.

      • I suspect there is some truth to the old saying that we cannot know what a person (e.g., Lemon, Tapper or John King) does in the privacy of a voting booth.

But I do note the following about Dandy Don:
Fan of Megyn Kelly and claims to watch her show somewhat regularly. (Gregg Jarrett, not so much. Lol.)
        Active Republican in college
Widely criticized by his friends on the left for agreeing with Bill O’Reilly’s comments about black people.
Pals around with Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke on the weekends.

Nah. I made that last one up.

        • Facts about me that could lead to conclusions:
          — was maced at a campus demonstration
          — attended George McGovern’s presidential campaign kickoff rally
          — bought a book by Dan Rather

          • I too went to a McCain campaign stop here in San Diego at a small plane hangar back in 2008.

I was deeply saddened I had to tell the perky pretty campaign worker that, “No I am not interested in holding one of your ‘stupid’ McCain signs at the rally.”

Actually, not true — I was polite about it.

          • You might want to ask for a FOIA request for your FBI files. They might have you down as a subversive. WAIT! What am I thinking? If you were a subversive, you’d have a cushy job in the Obama Administration.

        • Well since Clarke is a elected Democrat……that might be good for him.

We have few Journalists who are “pure” left…..I’ve been watching CNN a lot this week…..they have very few… me it’s clear who most support.

          1. Never seem to mention that Gold star father worked for a law firm that handles Clinton’s taxes,,,,,,,,,,,and does immigration for people from the middle east…….isn’t that news???? Not according to CNN and others.

          2. Last week CNN was hot for Republican women for Hillary……but failed to mention every time I saw her on air that its leader Jennifer Lim husband works for a firm that has a contact with……wait for it…..yes that’s right…..the Clinton campaign… do you do a interview with her and NOT ask her about that?

These are just examples off the top of my head….there are many more and many on the trump side…..I could rip him apart…..but nobody wants to do it…….and I doubt Clinton would be happy after a interview with me also. Journalists just are NOT doing their jobs anymore because they don’t want to lose access.

Nobody want to be treated like obama did to Fox News early on.

          • “Journalists just are NOT doing their jobs anymore because they don’t want to lose access.”

There’s a lot of truth in that statement. Heck, even Chuck Todd was candid enough to admit it.

          • NBC NIghtly News always started with a weather calamity somewhere. Now it’s a Trump calamity. Obama cash payment to Iran for hostages? That’s hardly worth mentioning. Odd coincidence. Justice Dept objected. So what?

          • Does it seem like as far as the network news bias goes nothing much has changed since we in our 20s and 30s.

NBC is still the most left of center and ABC the least.

          • You might be right. ABC always had some people to give you the straight scoop: Howard K. Smith, Jake Tapper, Jonathan Karl, John Stossel, Brit Hume come to mind. Plenty of liberal voices though. I’m not a fan of David Muir. I had and still do, my favorites at the other two networks just because of their professionalism. Probably the guy I miss the most was David Brinkley from NBC, later ABC. In total, the ideological slant has never been too far apart though among the three. Will the advent of FNC, it stands out like it never did before.

          • Virtually no one has access to Mrs. Clinton. She doesn’t do press conferences. She does more controlled interviews on news show such as Sixty Minutes which left unaired on the broadcast the majority of her response to the DNC rigging the election email leaks (the big story of the moment).

She did make the decision to sit down with Chris Wallace and was treated differently, which led to the brouhaha over her remarks attempting to parse FBI Dir. Comey.

BTW– the NTY has yet to report that story.

          • Re:Sheriff David Clarke from Milwaukee County. He is a Republican through and through but was smart enough to run as a Democrat because he knew he would NEVER be elected as a Republican in Milwaukee County. It’s been decades since a Republican has been elected for any post in Milwaukee County. Bloomberg spent $200,000 fighting against Sheriff Clarke in his last election. He has told people to buy a gun to protect yourself since police can’t get to you fast enough many times.
How do I know all this? I live in Wisconsin and listen to Milwaukee talk radio where Sheriff Clarke is a frequent guest.

          • Well I said he was an “elected Democrat” which he is……….hes conservative for sure and remember both Bloomberg and Trump were both ONCE Democrats…….I figure if he can win 4 TIMES in the Democratic Primary and then win the general with @70-80%…..he entitled to call himself a Democrat….who BTW has NEVER run as a Republican for anything.

Doesn’t the Democratic Party say it’s a big tent after all.

        • Come on, Michael. How political is it to admire great talent in your own profession or to not be rigidly ideological on some position or another?

          • You don’t think someone fitting that profile has a 90 percent plus chance of having pulled the lever for the GOP in 2008?

            Wow. I’m surprised.

Although in the case of African Americans like Stacy Dash and Don Lemon I have to concede they may have supported Obama based mostly on his race more than his politics. Stacy admitted as much.

          • Perhaps he did not for reasons I already mentioned.

But today if it was Clinton vs. Romney, perhaps he would. Of course, we’ll never know.

  3. Mr. Concha is right about cable news missing important stories. I expect that to stay true until the media gets their candidate elected.

    • Cable news has been doing one story for about a year sometimes other things interrupt, it’s like they’ve given up to the internet… fully.

  4. CBS’ Face the Nation with John Dickerson was the most-watched Sunday show for July 2016. Suits at CBS must be pleased. I like him.

  5. If you really want your news go to the barbershop. Today I learned “the government” was behind the shootings in Orlando. Who would have thunk it.

  6. Today’s most popular links:
    5 doing town halls
    4 ignoring important stories
    3 talent and drive
    2 Fox News drops
And the most popular link in today’s links…
1 Somerby: Joe and Mika faking it, a game they’ve been playing a long time.

  7. Re: “Tuesday’s numbers: Megyn Kelly-Bill O’Reilly-Sean Hannity 1-2-3.”

    Good night for women, eh?

Greta and Burnett both beat Matthews.
    Maddow beat Cooper.
    Kelly beat O’Reilly.
